    Software development across Canada

We work with businesses in every province, remotely and on time. Find your city or province below.

How we work with businesses across Canada

FourCents is a remote software studio. Discovery, design reviews, demos and support all happen on video calls and shared documents, and every project runs on the same written, fixed-scope quote wherever you are. The city and province pages below exist so you can see the kind of work common in your area and reach us with the right context, not because delivery changes by postal code.

    What is the same everywhere

    • A short discovery, then a written quote for a first release you can actually use
    • Hosting in Canada by default, with the code and accounts in your name
    • Integration with the systems you already run instead of replacing them
    • A support plan quoted in writing, so nothing is left unpatched after launch

    What changes by province

TopicWhat differsWhat we do about it
Privacy lawPIPEDA applies federally; Alberta, British Columbia and Quebec have their own private-sector laws. Quebec Law 25 requires a privacy impact assessment before a new system that handles personal information. Health custodians fall under provincial health privacy laws such as PHIPA in Ontario. We design data collection, consent and hosting to the stricter rule and document it for your counsel to confirm.
LanguageQuebec businesses generally need French for customer-facing software and communications; federal programs often require both official languages. We build translation support into the first release rather than bolting it on.
AccessibilityOntario organizations with 50 or more workers must meet WCAG 2.0 AA for public web content under AODA; other provinces and federal bodies have their own rules. We test at the prototype stage and deliver an accessibility report on request.
Sales tax and regulatorsGST, HST, PST and QST rules differ by province, and regulated industries (insurance, real estate, cannabis, health) answer to provincial regulators. We configure tax and record-keeping to your accountant's and regulator's requirements; they confirm, we build.

    Common questions

    Do you come on site?

Projects are delivered remotely. Discovery works well on video with screen sharing, and it keeps the quote focused on the software rather than travel.

Do you serve small towns and the territories?

Yes. Remote delivery means a business in a small community gets the same process as one in a large city. Provincial and territorial pages are listed below.

Is my data hosted in Canada?

Yes, by default. We list every third-party service that touches your data so you can review it, and we can host on premises where a regulator requires it.

Which page should I start from?

Start from your industry or the service you need; the location pages are a way in, not a different offer. Our industries page lists 25 sectors, and the services page lists what we build.
